Word of Warning to Family Bloggers

When my daughter died in 2022, it was unexpected and the loss was devastating for the whole family. Her husband had access to her passwords, but he was so distraught, he just put everything in storage, then in 6 months, he had remarried. No one knows where the information has gone to.

Aine's blogs were mostly family and family history oriented. I wanted to copy into a PDF form and save in a book form for the 8 children and for her to be born grandchildren. One of the blogs is visible, naming the 3 blogs that she had made private because it was a time we were being warned not to publicize our children, as there were many children being kidnaped, among other things. The dos and don'ts of posting about Children online https://www.cnn.com/2016/10/21/health/posting-about-kids-on-social-media/index.html

The consequences were loss of memories, pictures, and a little bit of her. So, what I would like to have as a take away, Leave your password access to someone that has an investment in saving your content and will share with your family. I have been copying my own blogs, saving in a pdf format and keeping on external hard drives.

Sometimes life is hard.... The Hummer.
